Bormioli Pharma, a design and manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging and Pierre Fabre, a group for pharmaceuticals and the inventors of dermo-cosmetics, have developed mouthwash bottles. Created for the brand ELUDRIL®, a pharmaceutical oral hygiene company, the bottle is 100% recycled PET packaging.
The two companies started their collaboration in 2020, both committed to sustainable development and eco-design. To meet the needs of Pierre Fabre, they assessed ten suppliers on their customer safety, regulatory compliance, machinability and aesthetics.
The use of recycled plastics has resulted in new, lighter packaging that will save more than one ton of plastic each year. This development is a reflection of both companies targets, with Bormioli Pharma aiming that 50% of manufacturing materials used will have low environmental impact, and Pierre Fabre focusing on creating a portfolio that is 50% eco-social-designed.
