The Sustainable Medicines Packaging Awards showcase and celebrate sustainable innovations revolutionising pharmaceutical packaging today.
The Awards are run by sustainable healthcare pioneers, YewMaker, the executive lead of the Sustainable Medicines Partnership, a public-private partnership building science-based, scalable solutions to make medicines and medicines packaging more sustainable.
Award winners will be announced at an in-person champagne award ceremony at our event on the 14 June 2023, hosted by the YewMaker founder and CEO, Dr Nazneen Rahman.

The Sustainable Medicines Packaging Awards have been launched to celebrate and recognise sustainability in the pharma and biotech sector; and the winners have been announced!
Billions of single-use pharmaceutical packaging items are thrown away each year. The sector is innovating to make medicines and medical device packaging more sustainable. Dr Nazneen Rahman, the founder and CEO of YewMaker, is designing and searching for scalable solutions to make the healthcare sector more sustainable. Shining a spotlight on innovation in pharmaceutical packaging is an important step in the right direction to embed sustainability in the everyday products we use.
Ten applicants have been shortlisted, with gold, silver and bronze winners for the two categories due to be announced on 14 June 2023 in Geneva. The shortlisted applicants are:
This award showcases innovations in sustainable packaging design. Such a design innovation may involve materials, constituents, size or shape of medicine or medical device packaging to reduce waste and increase sustainability.

The winners will be announced in an in-person champagne reception at Connect in Pharma on 14 September at 15:15. Nazneen will present the work of the Sustainable Medicines Partnership in driving more sustainable pharmaceutical packaging and will chair a discussion on sustainability within the sector, followed by a champagne reception in which the winners will be revealed!
